Welcome! I’m thankful you’re here!! I wanted to share a little background as to how I came up with the name of my blog.
We are a Christian family, faithful to do our best at trusting God throughout our journeys (Not to say we are perfect at it; far from it, in fact). But I hope to share our faith and our journeys through this blog and I’d love it if you joined me.
‘My thoughts are completely different from yours,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine . . . my ways [are] higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts’” (Isaiah 55:8–9).
Faith. What is it, exactly?
Well, for me, it is believing without seeing. It is putting my trust in God, and God alone. It is clinging to the above verse and remembering that His ways are, in fact, higher than mine. He is the only one that will not let me down. Peace comes when we place our faith in God, not man. Don’t get me wrong. My family is amazing and I love them all very much. None of them intentionally let me down. But, it happens. It’s life. I’ve let them down a number of times, as well (and I’m only referring to one day! HA!) Anyway, we are all flawed. And that is ok. It’s perfectly ok. But this is why I will put my faith in God. He is not flawed. He will not ever let us down. Oh, we may think so. Believe me, I know. But, at the end of each journey, we know exactly why He did what He did (or didn’t do). If we are faithful, He is even more so. And the amazing thing is is that our faith in God intensifies when we invite Jesus into our lives.
What about journey? What does it mean? According to Dictionary.com, it means :
1. An act of traveling from one place to another.
2. A long and often difficult process of personal change and development
3. Travel somewhere
I’ve most definitely taken all three types of journeys. And there is no question that the second type is the hardest. But, it can also be the absolute best kind . . . if we have faith in the One that set us out on that journey. It’s taken me years to realize that and I’m still not completely there. My journeys aren’t over. Far from it, I’m sure. But, I’m trying to enjoy the ride the best that I can!
So, our blog will be about just that. . . Having faith in our journeys, as imperfect as that may look. And, trust me, this blog will show you just how imperfect faithfulness can be. Thank goodness we have a gracious, forgiving God!
